The MG300 could be all you need for effects, or compliment an existing board like mine does. There really is nothing negative to say about it. The best thing about this pedal except the obvious excellent sound quality is that you can directly record your guitar in your preferred DAW without any need of a Audio interface, which saved me a ton as I was earlier going to buy a Scarlett (2i2).
