About this deal

Easter is a little over a month away and I'm putting plans in place already with lots of fun Easter crafts for the girls. Easter Is Coming by Tama Fortner with illustrations by Wazza Pink is a fun book for children which doesn’t talk as much about Easter as it does about God's plan for the salvation of the world. This engaging and concise biblical account of Jesus’ final week with thought provoking questions, illustrated with endearing portrayals of the people of the world make Easter is Coming! I am so glad Fortner communicated this need and did so in such a way that little ones can comprehend and can thus participate in the anticipation and excitement of Resurrection Sunday. Both of my kids became enthralled with the book from the first time I read it to them and my daughter immediately asked me to read it again when I had finished.

I am always on the lookout for books and other resources to aid me in my mission of teaching my children the implications of Easter and what it is we are truly celebrating on that holiday. It observes the most central tenet of the Christian faith—that Jesus Christ was resurrected from the dead. Tama has collaborated with such well-known authors as Max Lucado, Rebekah Lyons, and Emily Ley to create inspirational books for all ages.He existed before the world was created and knew that "Easter" was coming all along even though it took people a while to understand. What I liked most about this book is that is started at the beginning, with Adam and Eve, and took the reader all the way to present day. A special thanks to LifeWay for sending a complimentary copy of Tama Fortner’s book, Easter is Coming. I received a copy of this book in exchange for a review as part of the publisher’s bloggers program. In a time when children’s Easter excitement often focuses on only egg hunts and candy, this book offers a different—and true—reason for joy and expectancy.

This children's board book features beautiful artwork done by Wazza Pink; my favorite illustration is of Jesus and the children. I wish dearly that you would publish again the "Formula For Determining The Date Of Easter For Any Year In The Gregorian Calendar" that appeard only in the 1977 edition of the Old Farmer's Almanac. As mentioned above, the Christian Church decided to simplify calculating Easter’s date by always observing the spring equinox on March 21, despite the fact that the equinox date changes over time and is actually getting earlier. Some historians suggest that it came from the phrase hebdomada alba, Latin for “white week,” used to describe the white garments new Christians wore when they were baptized during Holy Week.
