About this deal

I would say that the best audience of the book is a beginning undergrad in a stem program, a motivated and mature high school students with a keen interest on maths or a layman with some maturity of mathematical concepts. plus the 2 most basic ideas of the book, that the meaning of a mathematical object is the rules it obeys and how it is related to other objects and how to extend familiar ideas to unfamiliar territory.

This is a popular science book about geometry published by the OUP, and aiming at a level well bellow that of any subscriber to the hyperspace. Timothy Gavors, one of the world's leading mathematicians, seeks to shed light on the differences between advanced mathematics and the mathematics we teach in school. Gradually they will get used to only half understanding what their mathemtics teachers say, and after a few more missed leaps they will find that even half is an overestimate. Various geometries are presented, each with particularly engaging examples of problems that are formulated in that particular geometry. The amount of equations is minimal, but still some maturity is required to fully appreciate the contents.

Mathematics : A Very Short Introduction is a really good book for anyone interested in what mathematicians actually do. There are so many gems in every chapter and the way they are connected makes you understand why mathematicians treat them in that way.A Serving of Crime with a Difference - You May Just Discover Something Unique, Different, or Unusual in These 20 Crime Novels. Actually I think the book can be very enlightening for math undergraduate students, especially for math teachers.

this book is great if you want a guide through the mysterious and beautiful path of numbers but for me, it still didn't do justice to mathematics, the way that Roger Penrose does to mathematica. he study of geometry is at least 2500 years old, and it is within this field that the concept of mathematical proof - deductive reasoning from a set of axioms - first arose. I started this book nearly four days ago, through weekend with dozen amount of coffee and panic attacks (which I usually get.Maciej Dunajski is a Fellow of Clare College, and a Professor of Mathematical Physics at the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics at the University of Cambridge. Luc Montagnier, Nobel laureate From the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and Publishers Weekly bestselling author of The Real Anthony Fauci comes an explosive exposé of the cover-up behind the true origins of COVID-19. Nothing new to people who knew anything about math, and not terribly interesting to people trying to learn something about math.
