About this deal

I’m a massive fan of little-known facts and random pieces of information so this series of books is right up my street.

About the Author: Andy Smith is an award-winning illustrator, and studied illustration at the University of Brighton and the Royal College of Art, London. I like the premise of this book -- trying to take encyclopedic information and present it in a new and interesting way.Sprinkled through the book are ‘fact frenzies’, where facts are linked with hilarious and unexpected word connections. This book is a creative FACT book, with all kinds of information about things you may not know (and some things you may know already).

You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. In a sense it was easy to let my imagination run wild and find fun and exciting links to different, unexpected topics. His work combines illustration and typography to create images that have humour, energy and optimism executed with a handmade, hand-printed, tactile feel. No missing or damaged pages, no creases or tears, no underlining or highlighting of text, and no writing in the margins. So, dip in and out, or follow the trail from beginning to end, or even take one of the side branches to skip ahead or back to a different connected fact. On your awe-inspiring journey, you will find out extraordinary facts about space, bones, dinosaurs, spiders, sharks, robots, ancient Rome and more. Did you know Disney’s The Lion King was likely inspired by Sundiata Keita who founded the Mali Empire around 1240 after defeating his treacherous uncle?

Read more about the condition Very Good: A book that has been read and does not look new, but is in excellent condition. In this edition, readers have the chance to “Follow Ye Olde Trail of 400 Facts” through time as they explore global history. There are tons of different subjects within the book; breakfasts, space, animals, dinosaurs, light, weather, crystals – anything you could possibly think of. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item.We absolutely loved diving in and following our fact-hunting noses to track down the obscure and the unbelievable. It's sort of a coffee-table book for kids: one to just pick up and peruse a bit at a time, and see what fun things you learn. Come down the travelators, exit Sainsbury's, turn right and follow the pedestrianised walkway to Crown Walk and turn right - and Coles will be right in front of you.

These paths all intertwine really well, as you transition from learning about bugs to learning about sharks, and then into light reflecting off of the moon creating rainbows! The illustrations are fun and dominate the page while the arrows between the facts prompt even the most reluctant reader to investigate further. When she's not hunting for new facts, Kate enjoys gardening, playing video games, and planning road trips to national parks.
