Gotta bump this thread. Thank you so much! I've got an N55 with MEVD176k, and you cannot register the battery with the .prg file. This appears to be applicable only to MSV70/80 & MSD70/80. All rechargeable batteries will self discharge over a period of time naturally whether the battery is used or not. This means that the compatible ICOM BP-217Li Battery Replacement capacity will go from 100% down to 0% over a time period regardless. I actually think I used the 176k .prg to register my battery in tool32 (Mevd172 N55). The option was there. Not sure why it wouldn't be for you if you loaded the right .prg. I am not expert in that area thought just passing along the info I've found.Energizer® is the world's No.1 speciality brand. Breaking In New Batteries - new ICOM BP-217Li batteries come in a discharged condition and must be fully charged before use. It is recommended that you fully charge and discharge your new battery for ICOM BP-217Li two to four times to allow it to reach its maximum rated capacity. At the mid 700 CCAs you most likely have an H6 or group 48 size conventional battery. ANY aftermarket conventional H6 / group 48 sized battery is a suitable replacement. You should buy a good battery that has equal or slightly higher CCA, but is still the H6 size. The car will operate normally. Please verify the size and type of the current battery before buying a new battery. Some e90 models came with an AGM battery, some came with a larger H8 sized conventional battery. The easiest route is to replace your current battery with the same size and type.
