About this deal

Not only did the Bluetooth signal hold with zero dropouts, but the sound quality was also excellent and distortion free. A Wide-roll Foam surround and large cone area give it room to stroke, so much so that you'd be left wondering how It hasn't torn to shreds. Having two midrange drivers also provides something of a wide, space-y sound, but it won’t be fully stereo, unless you will be standing very far from the speaker, and somehow right in front of it, leaving enough space for a bit of a soundstage to shape up.

They mention that it has good bass and treble, and there is none of that tinny sound that you get with most Bluetooth speakers. Example: I set the speaker on my back yard deck railing and walked 50-60 feet away from the speaker. While the LCD display feels pretty durable on touch, there are obviously some downsides, in that it becomes a bit more frightening to carry around a lot or carry across a room of people into their fourth drink. We wonder if this is because the Exos 9 is not necessarily made as an outdoor speaker, and it is assumed that one has more frequent access to power to recharge. CONNECT IN SECONDS - Connect to your iPhone, iPad, any Android device, any Kindle tablet, Windows device, PC, or Mac with our with aptX and A2DP support. Placing EXOS 9 right near your wall won’t provide the deep and well-rounded bass that EXOS 9 can push.

The Exos 9 brings its own unique approach to the table with a design that isn’t going to satisfy everyone’s tastes, and we have to appreciate the risk that Aiwa took with the Exos 9 design, opting for something out of the box, rather than relying on the traditional design style found in most party speakers. I played different genre’s of music on the Exos-9, from 80s new wave, 60s psychedelia and modern over-processed music to bass-monster songs (for testing bass of course), folk and classical. They mention that it connects to a mobile or tablet with Bluetooth, and it can be set up in seconds. However, it does come with a remote that gives you full control of EQ so you can tune the sound to your liking. The Aiwa Exos-9 is a large and loud 200-watt portable wireless Bluetooth speaker known for its ability to play loudly, both indoors and out.

For those not familiar, mid-side processing takes a stereo recording and separates sounds coming from the left and right from sounds coming from the middle. This allows two Exos-9 speakers to be wirelessly connected for audio mirroring or true L/R stereo—with the added benefit of even more volume. And for the same money, you can get the excellent sounding Marshall Kilburn, which gives you a sense of nostalgia with its physical knobs, switches and buttons. Since its release, the powerful Aiwa Exos-9 Portable Bluetooth Speaker has garnered a lot of positive press and reviews. I have owned a selection of portable speakers in the past even a large PA party unit and none came even close to what the EXOS 9 sounds like!
